I started this blog last year, and maybe managed to post about once a month, always promising myself I would be more active with it. At least weekly, but it never happened. I'm in the process of changing things around with Etsy, and crafts in general, so I'm going to really, really try this time, to stick with this. Fingers crossed!
Since I deleted all my previous posts, here goes another quick about me to kick this off. I live in Central Florida with my husband, 2 cats Moose and Zoey, and am due in October with a baby girl. I was born and grew up just outside of Philadelphia, PA. I did the first 2 years of college online, took 2 years off after, then went to Jacksonville University to finish my bachelors, which is where I met the husband. Moved to Ohio with him for 2 years after college, then finally made it back to Florida and have been here for about 2 years now and love it!
I have been crocheting for about 9 years now, knitting for 7, and general crafting for as long as I can remember. Until the pregnancy and frequent lack of energy, I was usually always crocheting something. Naturally, the projects started stacking up. I decided to start an Etsy shop to unload some of my projects to make room for new projects. Instead of it being a mostly crochet/knitting shop, I actually tried out other crafts and projects, so there's a random collection of accessories posted there. http://www.gingerbeandesigns.etsy.com
I started my Etsy about a year ago, just for various little crafts. Map pendants made from Disney World park maps, some other random pendants, some knit & crochet items, and am just getting into hair bows. I figured I should start learning how to make bows and some girlier things now since we've got a little girl on the way, ha!
All projects in progress, finished, and some little pieces of my normal life are posted on my Etsy's Instagram @gingerbeandesigns and most stuff is posted on my Etsy's Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/gingerbeandesigns.
Be sure to follow both for updates, coupon codes, etc. Some items are also posted for sale on Instagram, as well as Etsy, if you would like a PayPal invoice sent to you for the item instead of creating an Etsy account.
My newest venture is Origami Owl. The more I read about their designers and talk to some current designers, it just seems like a really fun thing to do. With everything we have going on currently, I won't be doing the in-home parties, but a lot of Facebook/virtual parties. My starter kit should be arriving today, I feel like a kid on Christmas! I would like to post some pictures and thoughts comments from my "unboxing" of the products. My first test of sticking to this thing :)
I will be posting updates for that on that same Instagram account and will be creating a separate Facebook page for that as well, so stay tuned!
I think I have rambled enough. Feel free to contact me through either Facebook, Instagram, or email at gingerbeandesigns@gmail.com.
